Here is a pic of my grandparents, Cleon and Abell during the 1940s. Grandma Abell always told us that we were Indians. She did not like us calling ourselves African. She said that we were disrespecting and turning our backs on our ancestors when we don"t acknowledge who we truly are. Abell said that we were Creek and Cherokee Indian and that it runs through our veins. She said, "This is our home. We have always been here."
